A Lovely Song!
இழதில் கதை எழுதும் நேரம் இது! இன்பங்கள் அழைக்குது ஆஆஆ!
மனதில் சுகம் மலரும் மாலை இது! மான் விழி மயங்குது ஆஆஆ!
இளமை அழகை அள்ளி அணைப்பதற்கே இளமை அழகை அள்ளி அணைப்பதற்கே
இரு கரம் துடிக்குது...தனிமையில் நெருங்கிட இனிமையும் பிறக்குது!
இழதில் கதை எழுதும் நேரம் இது!
காதல் கிளிகள் ரெண்டு ஜாடை பேசக் கண்டு, ஏதோதோ எண்ணம் என் நெஞ்சில் உதிக்கும்.
நானும் நீயும் சேர்ந்து ராகம் பாடும் போது, நீரோடை போல என் நெஞ்சம் இனிக்கும்.
இனிய பருவம் உள்ள இளங்குயிலே! இனிய பருவம் உள்ள இளங்குயிலே!
ஏனினும் தாமதம் மன்மத காவியம் என்னுடன் எழுத,
நானும் எழுதிட இளமையும் துடிக்குது நாணம் அதை வந்து இடையினில் தடுக்குது!
ஏங்கி தவிக்கையில் நாணம் எதற்கடி, ஏக்கம் தணிந்திட ஒரு முறை தழுவடி,
காலம் வரும் வரை பொறுத்திருந்தால், கன்னி இவள் மலர் கரம் தழுவிடுமே
காலம் என்றைக்கு கனிந்திடுமோ, காளை மனம் அது வரை பொறுத்திடுமோ?
மாலை மணமாலை இடும் வேளை தனில் தேகம் இது விருந்துகள் படைத்திடும்.
இழதில் கதை எழுதும் நேரமிது!
மனதில் சுகம் மலரும் மாலையிது!
தோகை போலே மின்னும் பூவை உந்தன் கூந்தல் கார்மேகம் என்றே நான் சொல்வேன் கண்ணே!
பாவை எந்தன் கூந்தல் வாசம் யாவும் அந்த மேகம் தனில் ஏது நீ சொல்வாய் கண்ணா!
அழகை சுமந்து வரும் அழகரசி!, அழகை சுமந்து வரும் அழகரசி!
ஆனந்த பூமுகம் அந்தியில் வந்திடும் சுந்தர நிலவோ?
நாளும் நிலவது தேயுது மறையுது நங்கை முகமென யாரைதை சொன்னது?
மங்கை உன் பதில் மனதினை கவருது, மாறன் கணை வந்து மார்பினில் பாயுது!
காமன் கணைகளை தடுத்திடவே, காதல் மயில் துணையென வருகிறது!
மையல் தந்திடும் வார்த்தைகளே மோகம் எனும் நெருப்பினை பொழிகிறது!
மோகம் நெருப்பானால் அதை தீர்க்கும் ஒரு ஜீவ நதி அருகினில் இருக்குது!

This is one of my fav songs too. Illayaraja had composed the song in the Raaga " Lalitha" - heroine's name in the movie.
This movie was first made by KB in telugu ( Rudraveena) and raja bagged a national award for it. The same song was sung by Yesudas & Chitra in telugu.
i wanted to say just the same thing as cogito...that it is in lalitha ragam and the heroine's name too begins with it. love the song!
@Cogito: That was very interesting bit of an information. I didnt know that the film was first released in telugu. Thanks. I cant help but recollect the joke in that movie with the name of the heroine as "malam"..lol

Nice song; Beautifully sung by SPB; havnt heard the telugu version but have seen a bit of telugu movie by Chiranjivi; Need to see to understand how Kamal makes a difference to the movie. I would say this is one of the best movie by KB which didnt contain any of his wild and perverted ideas.
@Mouly: I dont agree with KB being a pervert. He was bold for his times and was more daring than many of his contemporaries. But, there are scores of his films that stand testimony- Varumaiyin Niram Sigapu, Pudu Pudu Arthangal, Manathil Uruthi Vendum, Punnagai Mannan, Duet, Azhagan, Sindhu Bhairavi etc etc.
True he was bold but he also brought in his (or was it Ananthoo's?) perverted ideas too to some or many of his movies or atleast a strain can be noticed. Ofcourse there are some excellant stuff too. His earlier movies were good but not sure when his perverted strain came into his screenplay; probably Apoorva Raagangal?
And the last few you have listed in KB's list are pretty ordinary (& i would call them junks!); If you want to list testimonies for KB, you can start with Aval Oru Thodargathai, Nizhal Nijamakiradhu etc...or go further back from Ethir neechal. Punnagai mannan, Duet (a remake of a Hindi flick, dont remember the name), Azhagan ellam junks, are pure waste and definetely cant stand testimony for KB!!
