What is the purpose of Gmail?.This question has become even more serious with more and more of my friends questioning my need to go for yet another new mail id which supposedly gives equal if not more space as Rediff gives(which incidentally I have) and which requires some one to introduce...I think this caveat of Introducing makes it what it is...Had Google opened the flood gates to all then there wouldnt have been this hype about the entire issue..So, is this just a publicity stunt by Google...What would be the implications of such a practice on the other products of Google? It has been a status symbol...This remainds me of the age old days when my father's generation used to wait for 2 years for a coveted scotter made by Bajaj..without any idea of when their prize will come..The current day capitalists who cant imagine that situation are seen TOngue-over Cheeks for the Google Mail ids....What does this signify?
