Straight Angle™: Soul-Soothers
|
Tuesday, November 09, 2004Soul-SoothersRight now, I am listening to "Kaadhalin Dheepam Ondru" from "Thambhikku Entha Orru"....amazing voice from SPB. Meaningful lyrics and the tone in which it is sung, brings back the fond memories of Ceylon Radio...this song was a sure shot in most of their programs. I am afraid whether there are anymore listeners to Ceylon radio after the advent of the FM channels and their 24 hour film songs... But then was the time when we depended entirely on the Ceylon radio for new songs. Public opinion about a song was formed entirely by the request that a song gets in Ceylon radio. The typical Singhalese Tamil also added to the charm of the programs...it has been ages since I listened to that.. but is there any such truly quality program in the current plethora of FM channels?.. the songs that come in the FM channels in the day time are typically the best hits of the moment and none of the golden tunes of yester-years. "Phani Vizghum Malarvannam" from "Ninaivellam Nithya"...another all time favorites of mine. There are many more of them which make me go ga-ga. I can listen to them with no end...infact yesterday night(damn it was a thru night) when I was doing the BrandScan work till 5.30 AM, I was listening to these collections:
1. "Sangeetha Swarangal" from "Azagan" 2. "Kalyana Thaen Nila" from "Mownam Sammadham" 3. "Nee thanae enthan ponvasantham" from "Ninaivellam Nithya" 4. "Theendaai Meai Theendaai" from "En Svasakkatrrae" 5. "Kaetaen Kaetaen" from "Amarkalam" 6. "Ethu Mounamaana Naeram" from "Salangai Oli"...etc.. the list goes on...never ending list of ever growing soul-soothers...wish I had more of them. The Best Indian Business School Blog Jus been visits Free Counter Get awesome blog templates like this one from BlogSkins.com © All that is written here are the Genuine Products of the Intellect of the author and are protected by the relevant copyright acts...If you wish to quote the highness you can do so at your own risk and at risk to the integrity of the author's cerebrum.
