Rat race of wishes!!!!

you have not been given a wish without the ability to acheive it.-- I have never thought of my wishes in any way other than this. But tell me, how can I be sure that these wishes are within my capabilities. There is a very small grey area between wish and greed- where do I draw the line? when will I know that, my wishes are growing over my abilities? I have also seen that none of my wishes are granted, when I have interest in them. For example, when I would die to get into IIT, I didnt get a chance, but when IIM was my dream, IIT came knocking. Again should I take this as fulfilling of my wishes? May be my wish wasnt specific...may be I should have wished for UG in IIT and PG in IIM...But how do I know that my abilities for getting into IIT for UG was limited and for IIM was non-existent. Only when I see that my wishes are not fulfilled, does the truth dawns on me. This is true not only for materialistic wishes, but also for other wishes....like to have certain people near me, I havent had them, when I think I need them the most. When my need peaks, getting them would be even more difficult. When I loose hope and say "I dont give a damn to this rat ass", they come in front of me and tempt me. Should I be tempted to again start the rat race or should I leave it that way hoping that my indifference would infuriate "Him" to offer me what I wish. But then, when "He" offers me my wish, I would have got another set of new wishes, another set of milestones in the never ending mad race
