Wednesday, December 22, 2004New Lease of Life (Contd)....Failing in all attempts of finding her, he was still confident in his hopes...He would endlessly search google with the name..hoping she would be doing her higher studies in some place...but her name would invariably throw results that were anywhere close to whom he was searching for...Google too was betraying him...he used to search on all possible search engines he could lay his hands on....he would join all sorts of web sites that claimed to bring old college mates together and search for her name...but none would had anyone in that name... He would drift into unexplained moments of silence, when there would be no life in him and he would be seen with his books...One fine day, he was introduced to one of the social networking websites. Being an obsessed man in his search, he searched in that too..... would she be here...search for the name...for the first two months he couldnt find any one with that name...then suddenly one day...Viola....the same name and the same Birthdate...is it her???Will that be the same again??? With expectations racing through heart, he mailed her enquiring about her college and the course...days pass by but no reply..two days later there was a mail in his mail box confirming his prayers and hopes...it was her and she is there...atlast he had found her...but as expected...she couldnt identify him...infact she has never known him..he had always been a stranger to her..but this time around, he would be different...atleast he hopes so...he mails her introducing himself....but then even..you need to know someone to recognise him...he expresses his crush and she doesnt say anything...after that no sign of Life on the other side...his mails go unanswered...he cant reach her by any other means....what would he do??? Saturday, December 18, 2004How Long it takes for you to forget things????Well, yesterday was one of the most screwed up days in TAPMI for me. The morning was boring as usual. With the placement season nearing (it starts by January 19), there is a bit of excitement building around and all the usual expectations and dreams getting reinforced manifold. Had some presentations in the morning for an important assignment(that being the last day for the term) and my end term exams have started today. We have this academic requirement called a Business Awareness (BSA), where in the institute supplies you with two newspapers(business) ands couple of magazines and every Friday there would be a quiz on the latest news items..This has become a standard and it stops with the fifth term and the last of BSA was yesterday...We also had a briefing by the placement commitee on the issues in the Placement process, the status of various companies and all other mundane stuff at 2.00 and we had the BSA at 2.30..I had mu lunch at around 1.30, came bcak to the institute for the meeting, attended the meeting and then went on to meet my project guide for the Management In Practice(our version of the Summers) Phase II and spoke with him for some 10 minutes..he adviced some corrections and then I directly went on to the Library and started reading The Rule of Three- by Jagdish Seth...On my way to the Library, I saw people going up stairs and I thought to myself, these people will never leave their classes and I kept wondering which classes they are attending....went on reading the book and after half an hour come out, get the book issued and while coming out, I see people returning from the classes....I start wondering where the hell in this institute classes are conducted for half anhour and was jus curious and ask a guy there, from where are they returning.....and then it dawns on me that there was a quiz.....OMG....I have missed the quiz and this isnt the first time...infact this is the third time I am forgetting a quiz..God Save Me...lemme not screw myslef up....Please.. I have forgot a thing which I remembered barely 10 minutes ago....what the heck is happening around???? I still dont know
Monday, December 13, 2004PeopleSoft Relents, Agrees Oracle BidPeopleSoft Relents, Agrees Oracle Bid
After a prolonged battle of sorts this end....the battle has seen share prices of both the companies reaching the roof before some hostile take over bid and subsequent rejections, court battles, negotiations......endless wrangles...but now that has come to an end...but what would this mean to the Customer...no one can really predict.... Sunday, December 12, 2004Thursday, December 09, 2004Down besides the apple tree, My heart faints when I see, falshing by with a straw hat, she bounds her spell on me. Oh-I am losing myself to her. the sweetest pain I wanna live, playing with the fountain bed, she bounds her spell on me. The walk down the hanging bridge, her hands clasped together a chill goes doen by my spine when she bounds the spell on me. Oh sweetest of all girls I have seen, be with me, please ---be with me living like a princess you would add life to me... Written by my room mate, this poem explains my state right now....wish she hears it... Tuesday, December 07, 2004Atharva to a Blazing FinishKotak Life Insurance's Atharva came to an end on 5th December and there were certain pressing assignments to be done that postponed my blogging services...However, I hope I would regain the spirit and would post regularly..Ms.Yuktha Mukhi was the guest of honor on the third and final day of the event, which had a Mr. and Mrs. Personality contest and she was judging it.. A very mild and humble person she is , she was her own self and was a treat to watch...Yeah, she did interact with a few people...but I couldnt get a chance to take a snap with her...my only chance(till now atleast) to be with a famous person had thus gone waste...The day before ie 4th December was a great day...we were witness to one of the most interesting and unique quizzes that ever happened in India- "Quiz on the Beach"....the quiz was anchored by PickBrain Balasubramaniam(yes the same guy who writes Cross words in ET)...and was attended by both College students and Corporate participants...the quiz was an amazing treat to watch...Some 100 teams participated in the prelims, from which about 6 teams were chosen for the final...there were in total 4 corporate teams and 2 student teams...one of it was a TAPMI team in the final...The quiz started to a blazing reception, with one of the team having won the prelims with a single member only...The other member(who is from Chennai) was delayed because of a Bomb Hoax in the train he was travelling....But then the team- Quizlab from Chennai was amazing....also were the team Eternal Sunshine...a team of two- one from Sify and the other from Sun Microsystems, they were absolutely brilliant...The ES were leading till the last round, but the gap was dangerously close towards the last question...the round being the buzzer round, the ES team took a calculated tactical move and denied any other teams points and forced a tie-breaker...but the tie breaker too seemed to run into trouble when the first round was evened and the quiz master was forced to go for second round in the Tie-breaker...overall a wonderfull intelligent quizzing by the team and at the end, the team from Chennai- Quizlab won the event...Thrilling, nail bitting final....TAPMI's team came fifth...(Bacha's in the midst of Grandpas)...one consolation, we werent last...there were one more team that made it to the final and came last.... The topping of Atharva- Young Business Leader, was won by an XLRIan...This year too...ofcourse the last year's winner was also from XLRI....great work XLrs...keep it up... Sunday, December 05, 2004The problem us- Engineer(s) !!!An engineer was sitting in a garden, suddenly a frog jumped on his lap and said "kiss me and i'll turn into a beautiful princess"..., the engineer looked at it..put it in his pocket and started walking....after a few moments the frog yelled out again..."kiss me and i'll turn into a beautiful princess and stay with you for one week"...the engineer smiled at it and put it back in his pocket and started walking..... after a few moments the frog spoke out again and said "kiss me and i'll turn into a beautiful princess and marry u"...the engineer grinned and put it back in his pocket and started walking....after some time the frog popped out screaming....."what's the matter with you?" The engineer replied..."See, I have no time for a girlfriend......but, a talking frog......NOW THAT'S COOL". A Refreshing JokeA man walks into a bar with a paper bag. He sits down and places the bag on the counter. The bartender walks up and asks what's in the bag. The man reaches into the bag and pulls out a little man, about one foot high and sets him on the counter. He reaches back into the bag and pulls out a small piano, setting it on the counter as well. He reaches into the bag once again and pulls out a tiny piano bench, which he places in front of the piano. The little man sits down at the piano and starts playing a beautiful piece by Mozart! "Where on earth did you get that?" says the bartender. The man responds by reaching into the paper bag. This time he pulls out a magic lamp. He hands it to the bartender and says: "Here. Rub it." So the bartender rubs the lamp, and suddenly there's a gust of smoke and a beautiful genie is standing before him."I will grant you one wish. Just one wish. Each person is only allowed one!" The bartender gets real excited. Without hesitating he says, "I want a million bucks!" A few moments later, a duck walks into the bar. It is soon followed by another duck, then another. Pretty soon, the entire bar is filled with ducks and they keep coming! The bartender turns to the man and says, "Ya know, I think your genie's a little deaf. I asked for a million bucks, not a million ducks." "Tell me about it!!" says the man, "do you really think I asked for a 12 inch pianist?" Friday, December 03, 2004Which is it??? Wondering which one is more beautiful...the background or the beauty in the front??...to me the background gets all the more beautiful with the person in the front. Iam even more thrilled that she was an architect(student ofcourse) before coming on to modelling...neone wondering whether all the architectural students are great...for one I would testify to that...atleast in my college architecture was THE batch to look at...ash had brought that sense of youth and charm that no other actress brought in to the Indian cinema... I dont know why she didnt click in the south, but I had always been a great fan of her. Her profession being one more reason for my obsession with her... I remember the endless days we( a gang of five) would discuss about her and the roles she had played (the most favourite being the role from "Iruvar"- her debut)...such a pristine beauty she was in that film...man she was like........(fill in the blanks).
